In a post apocalyptic world, where large man-eating monsters roam the earth, the last remnants of humanity has managed to protect itself inside large circular walls. Resources are limited, but sustainable for a small population that lives within the walls. The ability to fight back against these monsters is limited, owing to their unknown biology and lack of technology. The Monarchy inside the walls has agreed to create a Scout Regiment whose sole purpose is to explore the land outside the walls, in search of other pockets of human civilization, resources, and methods to combat the monsters. Since it has been a few thousand years since humanity has been able to step outside the walls, this exploration is likely to have very high rates of attrition, and could also end up leading the monsters back to the human settlements, which would spell the end of all the people inside.

Hypothetical: Jashna is an overseas colonial territory under the imperialist’s rule. They had been invaded due to being mineral rich in terms of gemstones and other crucial minerals, and this mineral continues to be exploited by the imperial power. Jashna has vast reserves of this mineral, yet they are unable to mine it for themselves or use it in any way. They have had many movements calling for independence, and failed each time as the imperial power vastly suppressed the revolution. Some groups believe that as long as the minerals remain, the imperial rule will continue.

Before Abiy Ahmed’s democratic election, Ethiopia was ruled in essence by a single political party that was ethnically Tigray and discriminated against other regions with resources and support.
